Styled shoots are perfect for wedding inspiration, whether you’re looking for a dress with sleeves or a sleek mermaid. But this styled shoot was truly special: it ended with a real-life, surprise engagement.

Neutrals provided the framework for a timeless, elegant theme, captured by Kara Morgan Weddings & Events. Based in Norfolk, Virginia, the venue featured warm, exposed brick, classic candlelight, and bursts of greenery for romantic touches.

The allure was first created with a white tablecloth setting. A trio of white rose arrangements fit the soft neutral and ivory theme, while gold touches added allure to elevate the style. Though understated, the table setting perfectly matched the venue.

Of course, no venue is complete without food and drinks to celebrate. Sticking with a clean, simple elegant theme, flutes of champagne bubbles beside a wall of lush greenery. The two-tier white cake was accented with light texturing on the top tier and an elegant baby’s breath.

For attire, the real-life couple stuck to a navy and ivory color scheme. The relaxed navy suit was paired tastefully with a tan dress shirt and tie. A strapless, satin mermaid dress exudes modern elegance, complete with a ruffled, tiered skirt for romantic flair.

But the truly magical moment of this styled shoot? A real-life, surprise proposal, complete with red rose petals. The plan paid off: the bended knee proposals elicited a startled look.

And if you’re wondering– she said yes.
