Eclectic touches, with slightly offbeat vibes of rustic meat, the natural ease and organic tones, shapes and textures of a rustic wedding. For textures, consider lace, wood, freshly pickled country flowers, bare wood tables, and linen settings. Play with patterns and colors with antique, slightly worn plates. Make some DIY centerpieces: consider tea candles set beside sprigs of baby’s breath and sunflowers. Add some lace doilies for drinks!
Food
A rustic wedding theme calls for a potluck or buffet style, just like you’d enjoy as a family meal on a farm! Let everyone get their own plates with hot classic favorites, cold appetizers, glasses of iced tea and lemonade. Instead of the typical cake, opt for a small striped or naked cake, and add feather embellishments or another funky touch for that rustic feel.
Attire
No need to go black tie! For the bride, consider a sheath or column dress with lots of movement–all over lace wedding dresses work, but keep the lace fuss free and larger patterns for not to look too delicate. Ditch the long sleeves for spaghetti straps and a V-neckline. Make sure the dress is perfect for dancing; you may even consider a shorter wedding dress, or a low to high hemline. The bridal party should opt for neutral to warm tones. The men can opt for tan or even colored suits for a rustic touch.
