Gwen and Nate New Year’s Day Wedding

Gwen and Nate had visited the Upper Peninsula before for its recreations and attractions, but on New Year’s Day they decided they would return again for their wedding. Newberry Country Club in Michigan became their destination, because it was closer to the Tahquamenon Falls, one of the places they would go for its activities. They also chose the area because it fit perfectly with the brides’ wish for a “northern” wedding. On their wedding day, the ceremony was decorated with lovely poinsettias and Christmas trees, as well as big white ribbons adorning the pews and lanterns making way for the bride and groom to walk down the aisle together. Photographer RockHill Studio then took them to the family property to take a couple of shots for the wedding portraits. Pine trees and the landscape covered with snow created just the right backdrop for Gwen and Nate’s portraits. By far, my favorite picture was of the couple with their bridesmaids and groomsmen. The deep red colors from the bridesmaid’s stunning gowns and the groomsmen’s ties contrasted perfectly with the bride’s ivory gown and the groom’s dark grey suit.
