When it comes to wedding planning, many couples start with details like catering, fashion, and entertainment. But while that was all a part of Sophie and Joseph’s Downtown St. Petersburg Florida wedding, it wasn’t the focus.

“Family, Foundation and Faith” was the hallmark phrase their wedding planner used to execute a wedding with religion and family at the center. Sophie’s gorgeous sweetheart, scalloped neckline fit and flare gown featured delicate embroidery, a sparkling silver belt, and a lace train with just a hint of blush in the underskirt. And while she looked stunning beside soft tan tea length bridesmaid dresses, she had a different plan for the ceremony.

In recognition of faith, Sophie wore a prayer shawl to serve as the couple’s chuppah as they exchanged vows. Joseph looked refined in a classic bow tie tuxedo. The ceremony was breathtaking: flowering trees built from dragon wood, glass candleholders, suspended vines, and white velvet draping lined the stage. Mondial roses, sprigs of baby’s breath, and dendrobium orchids intertwined with soft lanterns.

The reception featured 12 foot vine trees and red roses–meant to symbolize the vitality of family and the bond of blood. Guest tables were covered with tea candles and foliage, and market lights flashing over a dance floor meant for a long night of heartfelt celebration captured by Rising Lotus Photography.
