Oversized floral statements are a growing trend, and it’s easy to see why. Traditional and delicate notes are given a bolder, modern update that feels lively. And it’s this trend that inspired this styled shoot by Jenfolio Photography, based in Lexington Kentucky.
Ultra modern can risk seeming out of touch with tradition, but this shoot strikes just the right balance between timeless classic features and modern updates. First, the fashion: the groom’s soft blue dress shirt and dark slacks is given a modern-meets-classic update with a polka dotted bow tie.
The wedding dress at first sight is full princess ball gown. But the taffeta skirt hint of blush adds a beautiful update, as does a statement bow in the back. The soft white lace bodice with cap sleeves feels traditional, but also modern, with a graceful illusion neckline that goes into a sweetheart, and a crystal applique belt for a touch of glamour.
And the most surprising part? A second, this time sleeveless dress, with an illusion neckline and a fitted, lace, trumpet silhouette–perfect for an evening reception.
Parisian inspired lounge chairs, bountiful greenery and floral wedding arches, and a scalloped petal two tiered wedding cake show just how wonderfully modern and traditional elements work with touches of glamour.
