From paper flowers to handcrafted signs showing guests to their tables, Monica and Stephen’s personal touches made for a heartfelt wedding (captured by Platinum Photography Studio).

The first unique aspect was the venue: rather than opting for a traditional banquet hall, Monica and Stephen, who had spent much of their dating years living in different cities, wanted a more personal a intimate feel. The perfect venue: Stephen’s parents sprawling backyard in Lodi, California.

Greens and floral tones from spring were the main inspiration the couple drew from. Pale pink rose bouquets, and a white bridal bouquet were graced with green foliage. Groomsmen sported slate gray suits with ties that matched the pale blush bridesmaid gowns. Posing for photos beside vintage, outdoor lanterns and mature trees, there was an almost ethereal quality to the bridal party.

Monica exchanged personal, written vows with Stephen before friends and family in a vintage, fitted sheath dress. All over lace was made more stunning with full length sleeves, a scoop neckline, and a classic veil over softly curled locks.

The reception was as much about the guests as the couple, showing Monica and Stephen’s heartfelt but playful side. In addition to a dance floor, activities included life-sized Connect Four, Jenga, and a photo booth. A striped tiered cake, long tables, and vintage chairs completed a relaxed and beautiful vintage garden wedding.
