The splendid natural beauty of the California coast inspired a seascape-themed wedding with elements of grace, intimacy, and romance, all beautifully captured by De Joy Photography. The subtle, stylish beach-like color palette included soft pinks, white, and light tan. In fact, the groom wore a suit of neutral, sandy-colored tan, while the bride’s white, high-neck, sleeveless gown was both casual and elegant, with a touch of tranquility.
The flowers used for this wedding event were all locally-grown. The arrangements included a composition of pink roses, blackberries, zinnias, dahlias, and Bella Dona lilies. Punctuating the arrangements were acorns, willows, and daucus from the University of California’s argo-ecology farm. The bouquets were hand tied with a silk ribbon that had been dyed with blackberries. Respecting the beauty and sustainability of California, the entire bouquet was designed to be compostable after the ceremony.
Taking cues from the natural beauty of California’s coastline and local flora while adding in elements of grace and intimacy is a guaranteed recipe for a wedding full of love, romance, and unforgettable moments.
Even the wedding cake was inspired by nature. It was a three-tiered, three-flavors treat, with one layer of brown butter cake with salted caramel and brown sugar Swiss meringue buttercream frosting. Another layer was vanilla bean mud cake with Swiss meringue buttercream, and the final layer was a vanilla bean mud cake with fresh strawberries and strawberry coulis.
