The golden warmth of late summer to early autumn, represented by vibrant reds and golds, lends itself well to a transitional style shoot with Britani Edwards Photography. Deep, rich hues of burgundy, amber, and yellow are trending in the wedding industry right now and it is easy to see why. First, this color scheme matches the transitional time between the sunny summer season and the colorful autumn time. Second, these colors are warm and luxurious with a sense of richness to them. For this style shoot at Stonewall Resort, this warm color palette was accented with a moody gray that perfectly complemented the stately elegance of Stonewall Resort, overlooking the breathtakingly beautiful Stonewall Lake in West Virginia.

Highlights of this style shoot include the stunning place settings and dining table centerpieces which repeated the floral selection of the bridal bouquet. Golden rod, red and orange roses, blackberry scabiosa, mini carnations, seeded eucalyptus, alstroemeria, and solidago all blended together to create bright and vivid floral arrangements. Rounding out the head table décor was eucalyptus garlands, gilded candlesticks, burgundy glass plates, gold-rimmed stemware, and chic place cards.

For this event, the couple selected a two-tiered naked cake with layers of rich devil’s food cake and buttercream frosting, draped with a decadent chocolate ganache. The cake was accented with seasonal stone fruits and berries, which reflect the warm gold and red tones of the flowers. The hand-torn invitation suite combines traditional elements of elegant typography with the theme of lush florals and gorgeous pops of color. The suite is tied together with rich brown velvet ribbon and adorned vintage postage wax seals for an unexpected splash of charm.
