Pantone Color of the Year 2016

Pantone has announced the color of the year!  Rose Quartz and Serenity blue, the first combo color by Pantone! The blending of a delicate soft pink color with a cooler tranquil blue will dominate this year’s fashion, departing from the traditional and impacting color trends everywhere. Attracting public attention everywhere, no one guessed that this year there would be two colors, instead of the usual one. So…why pick two? Pantone picked the Serenity-Rose Quartz combination  not only because the combo lends itself to a variety of styles, but Pantone has stated that it’s a symbolic color selection, and in their own words…”In many parts of the world we are experiencing a gender blur as it relates to fashion, which has in turn impacted color trends throughout all other areas of design. This more unilateral approach to color is coinciding with societal movements toward gender equality and fluidity…”
